How to connect a Cisco Device via Console using PUTTY

There are different terminal programs available to access a device. In this article, we will use PUTTY which is freely available to connect and establish a console session. Click Here to download PUTTY

Step 1: Connect your Cisco Console Cable to a Serial Port (COM Port) on your computer. Also Connect the RJ45 end of the console cable to the “Console” port on Cisco Device.

Step 2: Run the "Putty.exe" and configure it as show below.

Select Connection type --> Serial
